“The Gift That Keeps On Giving”
C
By making a bequest to the Second Chance Center for Animals in your Will or Trust, you can make a long-lasting contribution to the welfare of countless pets cared for at the Shelter every year. Such bequests are also deductible for estate-tax purposes. Preparing a Will or Trust puts you in charge of deciding how your possessions and assets will be distributed to provide for family, favorite charities, friends and anyone else you choose. If you already have a Will or Trust, your attorney can write a codicil or amendment (an addendum) that names Second Chance Center as a beneficiary of your estate. If you don’t already have a Will or Trust, please seriously consider preparing one! To include the Second Chance Center for Animals in your Will or Trust, you must specify the proper name and street address. Your bequest can be simply stated; for example: “I give to the Second Chance Center for Animals, 11665 N. Highway 89, Flagstaff, Arizona, 86004, the sum of __________dollars.” If you are leaving insurance policies, land or other property, please describe the property. An attorney should advise you regarding taxes and other aspects of estate planning. Careful estate and investment planning really can make a difference in your financial security today and the good you can do for the animals tomorrow. Your gift never stops giving. While you enjoy present benefits, your charitable gift ensures future protection for animals in Northern Arizona and the surrounding areas by continued humane education, effective law enforcement of animal cruelty laws, Animal-Assisted Therapy programs, maintenance of a quality shelter, and proper animal care and adoptions.
Bequests to the Second Chance Center for Animals are deductible from Federal Estate Tax. Savings can be substantial. A bequest to SCC can be cash, securities, real estate, or other property, i.e., stocks and bonds. There are some wonderful charitable estate planning tools that can result in a better outcome for your family and your favorite charity (SCC of course!). Consult with your estate planner to learn more about how you may be able to take advantage of some of these opportunities.
Your gift to SCC will provide you with the satisfaction of knowing you have made a commitment that will endure long after your lifetime.
